How Safe are We?

Let me start by saying that the flying public is not safe at all. Every time you are on a flight it is nothing more than a roll of the dice deciding whether your planes explodes and you fall thirty thousand feet to your death. Airport security is a pure joke in our country and we as tax payers deserve better for our money. The TSA is and has been run by idiots, people with no experience or education with terrorism. The Administrators and Managers normally take the positions to use them as stepping stones to other areas of the government. The Screeners are treated as mere numbers and nothing more and have a 95 percent turn over rate. They have nothing to work towards because promotions are given based on who you know and not what you know. It’s amazing to see someone who has worked hard and knows the job well, get passed over for promotion time and time again for people who have no clue about what is going on. Morale is always taking a beating and it shows with the TSA being the worst government agency to work for according to recent surveys. The Screeners who have been their as long as I have simply do not care anymore (can you blame them) and the new hires, well lets just say you can only blame the Management who hired them. This organization is truly a nightmare to work for and most people there now are only there for a paycheck. It has been reported in recent media that there is a huge failure rate during explosive test.  This is 100 percent true I know I missed my fair share. This is because of piss poor training among other things. The TSA continues to be reactive instead of proactive enforcing policies that make absolutely no sense. “Shoe’s Off” the liquid 311 rule this was the best they could come up with? You know the Terrorist have to be laughing their bomb chucking asses off. The only reason a Terrorist attack has not happened through one of our airports is because no one has tried. Americans are not safe and I for one will not fly.

Where did you get the 95% turnover rate?

It was from the a 2008 Department of Labor report based on new hire attrition. The TSA is like a revolving door.
